Facelift: Liquid vs Thread Facelift
The face can be given a more youthful appearance by performing a Liquid Face Lift or a Thread Face Lift, or both.
Liquid Face Lift:
The face can be enhanced by combining Skin Rejuvenating Treatments, that improve the texture, integrity, and colour of the skin, such as Peels, Mesotherapy, or Platelet-Rich Plasma with treatments that plump the skin, such as Hyaluronic acid Skin Boosting; or stimulate Collagen, such as the Poly-L-Lactic acid Biostimulator; or plump out lines and folds, such as Hyaluronic acid Fillers or soften fine lines and wrinkles, such as Botulinum Toxin Injections.
Some of these treatments can be performed during the same appointment, although some treatments are best performed at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks to allow healing of the skin.
Book an appointment to discuss the best combination of treatments for you and to discuss safe intervals.
Thread Face Lift:
A Thread Face Lift procedure involves the lifting of sagging tissues, by means of thin threads. These threads consist of resorbable materials, such as Poly-L-Lactic Acid or Polydioxanone, which are bio-stimulators. They create an immediate lifting effect, whilst stimulating the skin’s own collagen production. Eventually, the threads are completely absorbed and the newly-formed collagen fibres provide the lifting of the facial tissues.
The following corrections can be achieved:
- Mid-face sagging can be corrected
- The irregular jaw line/bulging jowls can be re-defined
- Volume loss under the cheekbones (cheek concavities) can be re-volumised
- Sagging skin in the neck can be lifted
Treatment duration can vary between 60-90 minutes, depending on the number of threads inserted.
The thread facelift can be performed from as early as 40 years of age due to the non-surgical nature of the procedure and the fact that outcome* can vary between a subtle, refreshed appearance for younger men and women and a more pronounced lifting effect for mature adults, depending on the number of threads used and the degree of traction applied.
In older people, those with severe photo damaged skin and those with extensive volume loss, filler treatments can improve the effects* obtained with Silhouette Soft threads. In cases where extensive fatty deposits are present under the chin or in the areas of the jowls, lipolytic (fat-dissolving) injections should be performed prior to the Silhouette Soft suture treatment. At the time of the consultation, advice will be offered regarding the need for a filler or a lipolytic treatment in combination with a Silhouette Soft thread face lift treatment.
Tesslift Soft
Tesslift is the world’s first CE marked mesh scaffold technology formulated by TESS (Tissue Elevation Suspension System).
The innovation behind Tesslift is its unique woven 3D mesh scaffold, which surrounds a barbed suture to provide an immediate lifting effect. This thread structure is made from easily absorbable Polydioxanone. Polydioxanone induces significant collagen production of the surrounding tissues through the pores in the mesh, providing increased adhesion and tensile strength for a long-lasting effect. Results gradually develop, until full results become visible at 12 weeks. 74% of the final tensile strength at 12 weeks already develops between weeks 2 and 4 following placement of the threads.
The procedure is as follows:
The procedure takes 2-3 hours, depending on the number of threads to be inserted. The average treatment consists of 3 to 5 threads per side. The treatment causes significant swelling, tenderness and pain for 3 days and moderate tenderness and swelling for a further 3 days. Threads can remain visible for 7-10 days, but, in some rare instances, threads can remain visible for up to 12 weeks
